In response to a query concerning the purported removal of Commander-in-Chief Valerii Zaluzhnyi, President Zelensky stated he was considering a major overhaul of the leadership structure of the nation, rather than focusing on any one individual.
Since 2021, Zaluzhnyi has held the position of commander in chief and is overwhelmingly supported by Ukrainians.
According to a December poll of past year, 72% of Ukrainians are against the resignation of current Commander-in-Chief
But for weeks, there has seemed to be tension between Zelensky and Zaluzhnyi, especially when Zaluzhnyi hinted in an interview with the Economist on November 1 about a possible "trap" of a frozen conflict.
