Texas-based defense company Saronic is taking groundbreaking steps to advance unmanned surface vehicle (USV) technology

To show off its latest efforts in armed drone development, Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) have released statistics and footage held by 4th Fleet of US Navy back in October of 2023

Saronic’s drones are operationally cooperative and autonomous

“This is their effort to try to get some new kinetic, lethal USV[s] fielded that can be employed probably in a western Pacific context – maybe the Strait of Taiwan,” - says naval expert Bryan Clark

Operational needs of Navy regarding small autonomous attack craft with ability of “intercepting” enemy vessels has been conceptually formalized as PRIME – Production-Ready, Inexpensive, Maritime Expedition by Defense Innovation Unit of US Department of Defense.
