Taiwan Authorizes Lethal Force Against Trespassing Chinese Army

Due to recent hostilities at the seaside border, Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defense has declared that ROC armed forces are authorized to use lethal force in self-defense against People’s Liberation Army of China.

The ministry cited international law as stating that when countries are attacked by foreign armed forces, they have the right to respond with armed force in self-defense.

The MND further said that if the enemy's warplanes or ships invade "our territorial airspace or waters," and attempts to expel them by identification, interception and broadcasting warnings fail, the frontline commander is authorized to take appropriate countermeasures to defend national security.

This Friday, Taiwan’s defense ministry has tracked 9 Chinese military aircraft and 5 naval vessels across the Taiwan strait, stating that four from the nine aircraft breached the median line, entering Taiwan’s air defense identification zone (ADIZ)
