Volunteers from Russia fighting for Ukraine have reported that they have reached the Gorkovsky settlement in the Belgorod area. The Siberian Battalion on Telegram stated that the fighters have taken control of the local administration building.
Gorkovsky is a settlement close to the Ukrainian border in the Belgorod region's Grayvoron district of Russian Federation.
In a video posted recently on RVC's Telegram, members of the Russian Volunteer Corps (RVC) claim to have taken 25 Russian soldiers hostage during raids in the Belgorod and Kursk oblasts.
Along with Siberian Battalion and Freedom of Russia Legion, the Russian Volunteer Corps broke through the Russian border on March 12 and seized control of multiple settlements, including those in the Kursk and Belgorod areas.
A fresh batch of captured Russian soldiers are seen in the video with their faces covered, the commander of the Russian Volunteer Corps Denis Nikitin had a talk with one of the prisoners with the rank of a senior lieutenant.
"The limited military operation in the Belgorod and Kursk oblasts continues, and here is the confirmation — a new batch of prisoners from the Russian Armed Forces," claimed the statement.
Additionally, Vyacheslav Gladkov, the governor of the Belgorod Oblast, was invited to a meeting by the Russian Volunteer Corps.
Amid fighting, Russian Federation has confirmed losses among its servicemen.
