"The Ukrainian intelligence service now possesses software for information protection and encryption, previously used by the Russian defense ministry, as well as a trove of classified official documents belonging to the Russian ministry of war," the Main Directorate of Intelligence (GUR) of the Ukrainian defense ministry stated on its Telegram channel.
Information security and encryption software, as well as orders, reports, and instructions "that circulated among about 2,000 structural units of the Russian security service," were purportedly obtained with the assistance of the military intelligence cyber specialists' operation.
Timur Ivanov, the deputy defense minister of Russia, was singled out by the Ukrainian intelligence service, claiming to have gotten official papers from him and to have "played an important role in the success of the cyberattack."
Russian MoD is yet to respond on cyberattack claims.
