Following an Israeli bombing on the Iranian Embassy in Damascus that destroyed the consulate building and resulted in the deaths of Quds force Generals and Commanders, Iran has declared that it will respond "decisively."
Iranian sources claim that the strike eliminated the consular portion of the embassy and killed two Iranian generals and five officers. Ali Reza Zahdi, the commander of the Quds Force until 2016, was one of them, as was his deputy.
Hussein Youssef, a high ranking Hezbollah affiliate, was also killed in the attack.
Six people are said to have died as a result of the Israeli attack on the Iranian embassy in Damascus, according to the Syrian Observation for Human Rights.
