On January 18, an "Ural" truck belonging to the Russian MoD was ambushed while moving on the road in the Bryansk region, on the territory of the Russian Federation; all the servicemen inside were killed.
Armed incursions on the territory of Russia have become routine since last year for the "Russian Volunteer Corps" - an anti-Putinist paramilitary that consists of Russian dissidents fighting on the side of Ukraine. They took responsibility for the 18th January ambush and released a video depicting it.
The first attack on Russian territory was carried out way back on March 2, 2023, where Russian Volunteer Corps broke through the Russian border and confronted the border troops of the FSB - the sabotage group returned home without loss.
A further large-scale raid was carried out in Belgorod, from which the volunteers returned home with minimal losses and armored vehicles as trophies.
On November 8, 2023, RVC militants killed Russian FSB lieutenant colonel Sergey Satin, which incident was also captured on video and posted on the combat unit's Telegram channel.
Over the past year, the "Russian Volunteer Corps" has been carrying out sabotage operations on the border of the Russian Federation on a large scale and has been supporting the armed forces of Ukraine.
According to the volunteer corps, their main goal is to "liberate Russia from Putin's bloody regime" and that they want a "relatively smaller, ethnic Russia".
