Shota Abzhandadze

Cybersecurity Specialist

Shota is a cybersecurity specialist and IT professional with more than 15 years of experience, including over six years in the banking sector, specializing in cyber threat analysis, security operations, and incident response. He is a Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) with extensive expertise in vulnerability assessment, network security, and the implementation and management of enterprise-grade security solutions, including SIEM, EDR, and PAM systems. At CASE, Shota works as a cybersecurity specialist, helping client and partner organizations strengthen their cybersecurity posture. He is also an instructor at CASE Academy, where he teaches a range of cybersecurity disciplines through both theoretical and hands-on training. Since 2025, Shota has worked as a Cybersecurity Specialist at Pasha Bank, where he is responsible for designing and implementing security controls across the bankโ€™s infrastructure, monitoring security events, and coordinating incident response. From 2022 to 2025, he worked as a Cyber Threat Analyst at Bank of Georgia, conducting real-time threat analysis using SIEM and threat intelligence platforms, investigating security incidents, and developing detection rules and incident response playbooks to enhance SOC effectiveness. From 2020 to 2022, he served as an IT Security Officer at the same bank, administering a range of cybersecurity solutions. From 2012 to 2019, Shota worked in the IT Department of Kutaisi City Hall. During his final four years there, he led the Kutaisi Municipalityโ€™s Information Technology Division, managing a team of specialists and overseeing IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and digital services. His professional background also includes providing cybersecurity and IT support to other public-sector organizations. Shota holds both bachelorโ€™s and masterโ€™s degrees in Banking and Finance from the Moscow State University of Economics, Statistics and Informatics (MESI). He has completed numerous professional certification courses and training programs, including Cisco cybersecurity programs, IT auditing, OSCP and CISA fundamentals, digital forensics, the OWASP Top 10, ITIL 4, and DevSecOps.
