With assistance from Australia, Bahrain, Canada, Denmark, the Netherlands, and New Zealand, the United States and Britain launched coordinated operations against Houthi-controlled parts of Yemen on February 3rd
The Pentagon claims that the strikes were designed to further impair and disrupt the Houthi militia's, which receives support from Iran, ability to launch attacks against American and other warships passing through the Red Sea.
"This collective action sends a clear message to the Houthis that they will continue to bear further consequences if they do not end their illegal attacks on international shipping and naval vessels."
According to the White House, the strikes struck 13 heavily concealed weapons storage sites, missile systems, launchers, air defense systems, and radars in addition to 36 Houthi targets spread over 13 separate locations.
