An elective, paid value-add service available to CASE Academy students — practical competency assessment, a verifiable digital badge and a live professional profile.

CASE USA | 8-Star Competency System is a competency assessment and professional-progress system issued by the US-based CASE USA. Its purpose is to show not only what a candidate has learned, but also what they can do with that knowledge.
Each star corresponds to a specific competency. Once the assessment criteria are met, the result is reflected in a digital badge and in the candidate’s updatable, publicly verifiable profile.
An independent educational record of course completion and its assessment.
An additional, elective, paid assessment — onsite or online, where the specific competency allows it.
Successfully verified competencies, a unique Badge ID and a shareable verification link.
In CASE USA’s internal system, 4 verified competencies create CASE Qualified status, and all eight create CASE Professional status.
The candidate has successfully verified four competencies defined for a specific discipline — applying knowledge in practice, completing standard tasks and working with the relevant professional tools.

The digital badge carries a unique Badge ID and a public verification link. The link opens the candidate’s updatable profile, where an employer or other interested party can see the badge issuer, its status and exactly which competencies are verified.
The process is transparent: you know in advance what is assessed, where the assessment takes place, what the success criteria are and what record you receive if you succeed.
A CASE Academy student selects the 8-Star assessment tied to the relevant course or discipline as a separate value-add service.
The candidate receives in advance the list of competencies, the assessment format, the success criteria, the fee and the re-assessment rules.
After the fee is paid, the assessment is scheduled onsite or online — only when the chosen competency can be assessed safely and reliably in that format.
The candidate completes a practical task, a test, a simulation, a case analysis or another predefined assessment.
The result is checked against the criteria. Only a successfully verified competency becomes a star.
The candidate receives a Badge ID, a public verification link and a live profile; the link can be shared with an employer or a professional network.
The format depends on the discipline and the nature of the competency. The criteria, identity verification and reliability measures are defined in advance.
At CASE Academy or a designated assessment space, with the necessary infrastructure and supervision.
Remotely, where this competency can be assessed securely, with identification and appropriate controls.
The badge helps the candidate show their capabilities more precisely; and it lets the employer verify the record directly at the source.
On top of the course certificate, it creates more specific, shareable and verifiable proof of competency.
The public profile shows only the necessary information and the badge’s current state.
Can I additionally take the 8-Star assessment after completing a course?
No. The CASE Academy course certificate and the Silver/Golden Seal are independent educational outcomes. CASE USA’s 8-Star assessment is a separate, elective and paid value-add service.
No. Payment covers the assessment service and gives you the right to take part in the assessment. The badge and the corresponding stars are issued only after you successfully pass the predefined assessment.
CASE Qualified denotes the verification of 4 competencies in a specific discipline. CASE Professional is granted to a candidate who has successfully verified all eight competencies defined for that same discipline. These names are internal CASE USA competency statuses, not state qualifications.
Both formats are possible. The choice depends on the nature of the competency, the technical environment required, identification requirements and ensuring the reliability of the assessment. Some practical competencies can only be assessed onsite.
The profile may show the candidate’s initials, the course or discipline, the verified competencies, CASE USA as the issuer, a unique Badge ID, issue information and the current status. The full name should not appear publicly without the candidate’s corresponding choice.
Yes. The advantage of a live profile is exactly that it shows the current status — for example Active, Expired, Suspended or Revoked — according to CASE USA’s relevant rules.
Only when the candidate meets the prerequisites of the specific discipline and the programme’s assessment rules allow it. Skipping the course does not mean automatic recognition of a competency — each star must be verified by assessment.
No. It is an American competency assessment badge issued by CASE USA. It does not represent recognition by an external accreditation body, state accreditation, a licence or a regulated professional qualification.
Ask your CASE Academy coordinator about the 8-Star assessment available for your course, the list of competencies, the price, the date and the onsite/online format.
